Doom Patrol New York Comic Con

HBO Max needed an activation that would cut through the crowded media landscape of New York Comic Con and connect fans with season 3 of the critically acclaimed show Doom Patrol. Drawing from show insights and a carnival themed cliffhanger at the end of season 2 we launched Doom Patrol’s Carnival Patrol outside the Javits Center. The 1200SQFT space featured a full size recreation of fan favorite character Danny the Ambulance, multiple photo-ops, and an eye-catching 18FT tall big top tent containing several Doom Patrol themed games along with sideshow acts, drag queen performances, cast appearances, Doom Patrol trivia challenges, and a DC cosplay contest outside the tent. Over the course of 4 days we gave away 6000 prizes to the more than 2600 people who played games under the tent with fans waiting in line for 45 minutes or more to enter. Countless thousands of convention attendees engaged with the photo-ops and entertainers outside the tent making Doom Patrol’s Carnival Patrol one of the most successful activations at NYCC 2021.
