Subaru Zero-Landfill Initiative

SUBARU NATIONAL PARK ZERO LANDFILL INITIATIVE As the first automotive manufacturer in U.S. history to become zero landfill, Subaru had been approached by over 800 companies to help them become zero landfill, too. So when the National Park Service asked them to sponsor the year-long National Park centennial celebration, creatively, we saw an opportunity for Subaru to do something of lasting historical importance as well as burnishing their environmental cred: Offer to do what they’ve done for hundreds of others and help make the entire National Park System zero landfill. Ambitious. Historical. And ultimately successful. Working with the Department of the Interior, the National Park Service and the National Parks Conservation Association to develop a pilot program that we then unveiled throughout the entire park service. We filmed the entire process, cut long and short form documentary pieces, broadcast spots and created a Cannes Lion and One Show Pencil-winning interactive website to house it all.
