Harridan Tarot Posters
I was commissioned to create a set of tarot-inspired prints by Harridan Vodka. I did a tarot reading using the Rider-Waite tarot deck, which resulted in this triptych of mixed-media Risograph prints. These are my first Risograph prints. Print is the medium of the people, the root of communication for the unschooled. The press, a tool of revolution, and Riso is similarly accessible and reminds me of the textures in those early prints and woodcuts. My love of etchings and bestiaries begat my love of demons who represent all that white men are afraid of. Fatness. Transness. Nature. Femininity.
The three prints are reimaginings of the 3 of Cups, the Chariot, and the 9 of Cups tarot cards. They're a combination of ink, acrylic paint, physical and digital collage, digital color, and risograph.
