Honey - An Open Source Typeface

Study PR001: Type Design. Honey is the product of our first foray into typeface design. Type design is an intimidating world but with guidance we decided a display face would be a fun entry point.

As our experimental entry into type design, we are releasing this demo as a free, open source font (link in bio). It isn’t perfect, but neither are we… and we like that.

Much like the honeysuckle flower, Honey has a striking appearance that alludes to its tubular shape before the flower blooms. Once bloomed the petals open to reveal soft curved petals and spike-like filaments. This typeface uses simple forms with experimentation in thick and thin points and unique approaches to how letterforms are drawn.
