Apple TV Advertising

While working as an in-house art director at creative experiential agency, Civic Entertainment Group, I created an advertising campaign concept for Apple TV’s then upcoming young adult series Dickinson. The show was described to us by Apple as a modern take on Emily Dickinson’s life as a young, lesbian poet. Within the concept deck we generated for the network, this was one of the ideas I conceptualized, designed, and art directed.

The following are three concept subway advertisements that overlay Emily Dickinson quotes over contemporary visual contexts. I created the hashtag #sameshitdifferentcentrury as a marketing call to action that would draw a quick comparison between the homophobia, misogyny, and disillusionment experienced by 19th century young adults in the series and present day young adults.
