Rootly is a new brand with the purpose of building awareness amongst Millennials and Gen Z'ers about holistic hair health and preventative hair loss. Rootly saw an opportunity to disrupt the hair health landscape and needed a visual and verbal identity to match their ambitions and resonated with their audience. With the focus first on digital and packaging and eventually moving into physical salons Rootly needed everything from naming, to positioning to design across multiple touchpoints.
I developed the idea around Rootly being the activator of self-expression for all hair and all people. By showcasing hair as an empowering form of self-expression that celebrates real people and their emotions. Taking inspiration from growth and hydration itself, I leveraged color, abstract hair swoops and hair like wall textures that compliment the positioning. Combining design and people with colorful, textural backgrounds and dynamic street scenes Rootly captures the energy, joy and vibrancy of diverse modern lifestyles.
