Student Project (2020)
The LaCroix brand received its last visual update in 2002 and yet its graphic style still references design trends from the 1980s. This project creates a sparkling new system that keeps a little bit of kitsch but has some added taste. Beginning with a new logo, it was important to keep the joy of the original brand while pivoting into something modern, funky, and conceptual as the floating ‘a’ and ‘o’ figures mimic the bubbles themselves.
This new energy is carried out in the rest of the brand through a simplified color palette that sings “Palm Springs” with sparkly “bubble burst” patterns throughout. The modernized update allows the brand to match the brightness of cracking open a can of LaCroix.
