An immersive exhibition of virtual rooms, Visual Reality seeks to transport people to fantastical imaginary scenes all while stuck in their homes. The concepts for the rooms grew out of my fascination with images from around the world depicting the ways the coronavirus pandemic has altered our collective landscape. The striking impact humanity has had on the planet has never been so visually apparent. Constructed landscapes – themselves inherently tied to human activity – now free from humans and smog, with wildlife emerging to explore the streets that once belonged to their ancestors. This contrast of humanity’s void and Mother Nature’s imposing natural beauty inspired each of the rooms.
