Ap(art)heid takes a deep dive into the intersectional world of existence and agency. The project is based on a mixture of candid moments and ethnographic interviews with subtle details of odd or eccentric elements. Finalized portraits with written letters aim to tell the stories of models and the differences of their public and private lives. My goal is to open a discussion about the social and cultural habits we continually reconstruct while exposing and questioning the system in which we normally function in. My Role: creative & art direction, ethnographic interviews, photo production and retouching. I work with photography, mixed media and anthropology to showcase my investigation into social representations and its lack of. Several recurring subject matters can be recognized, such as the relation with identity, social realism, and working with repetition.
