When I first sat down with Don he shared that he had been obsessed with the idea of recreating the perfect short from his youth.
We focused on the fit first. Having already started to experiment with new proportions on some of our inline shorts; Don was drawn to a particular fit we were calling the “oversized retro'‘ fit. We played around with how to get the weight of the short just right; even sampling a floated third layer of mesh secured at the waistband. To compliment the weight of the short we felt the graphics and trims would need to be robust. We finished the collegiate marks in tackle twill with a satin stitch, and Don’s signature drawcord tips and zippers.
