Bloom Energy Map

Bloom Energy is a company that offers an alternative energy source. They stress the importance of energy resilience. They reminded us about the many blackouts we’d suffered in California and how especially important it was for businesses like hospitals to have power at all times.

It had us thinking…. what if we created an interactive map that let users see for themselves the extent of the blackouts in California. We used our reporting skills to find data for every power outage in the state for the last two years, and designed a way to make that data interesting and accessible, then brought it to life.

As the lead creative on this project, I concepted the idea then executed the experience and interaction design.
