While at Ringling, I had the opportunity to take glassblowing! This experiment is showing glass by exploring the properties rather than an object. I explored how glass refracts light with projected animations.
When animating the projections, I pulled inspiration from the process of blowing glass.
The circles are from always rotating the pipe the glass is on. The particles are inspired by sparks coming from the wooden tools. The color is pulled from how a blue color drop changes based on heat.
I kept the animations very simple to see how complex they could be made when refracted through glass.
