The history of the bocche di leone, or complaint boxes, of Venice, Italy

During a visit to Venice, Italy, I became intrigued with the historic bocche di leone, thinking we could all use complaint boxes, especially these days. My editor at National Geographic loved the idea, so off I went to interview a historian and seventh-generation Venetian in order to discover how exactly these mouths of truth were used. I still think we all need one at home!
