Grounded Urban Practices zine
Grounded Urban Practices (GUPs) is a project developed by CLUSTER and Non-fiction. It refers to alternative initiatives working in public space in cities that have emerged over the past decade in response to economic and political shifts. These practices engage space as an agent for change, an approach known as spatial activism.
This publication is the culmination of GUPs meetup in Tunis and was created for the Mombasa edition of African Crossroads. It served as an invitation to others working in grounded urban practices to join the conversation. The front and back cover takes inspiration from public spaces in Tunis, highlighting GUPs work and connecting with the Tunis meetup.
