Flandill is a generative animated ecosystem, accessed through a website. The more people visit the site, the more the plants and creatures that reside there are affected — the plants are dependent on each other, and the creatures on the plants. When a visitor picks a flower, for example, it has repercussions on the whole digital environment, and these effects build up over time, with visible changes. With too many visitors, the ecosystem risks destruction, but like a real ecosystem, when left on it's own without visitors it begins to heal...
When the environment is doing well, the colours are bright and playful, plants and creatures are full and abundant; when it is bad, the colours are muted, creatures are slimmer for lack of food, and plants are sparse.
