Signs of Change Promotional Video

In the summer of 2020 Kickstarter launched Signs of Change, a creative prompt encouraging creators to launch projects that would get their messages out into their communities by making broadsides, zines, and protest posters. Since a promotional video had never been used to advertise one of Kickstarter’s creative prompts in the past, we took the opportunity to make this as a proof of concept that could be measured and expanded upon in the future. The goal was to reference the colorful history and DIY nature of broadsides, zines, and protest posters to inspire creators to participate. From art direction and storyboarding, to filming and editing, 100% of the production was executed in-house. We took our inspiration from the brief one step further by leaning into the medium of zines and poster-making in a literal sense, and by choosing to communicate our call-to-action through a mix of digital and practical effects made by Studio Team Graphic Designers.
