Ode To Lesvos - Johnnie Wakler

Ode To Lesvos is a short created in partnership between, Oscar nominated director, Talal Derki, and Johnnie Walker Storyline.

This it the story about a small group of unlikely heroes from the town of Skala Sikamineas, who received more than 300.000 refugees with open arms. Several of the films subjects were consequently nominated for Nobel's Peace Price for their efforts.

The film was showcased at Encounters film festival, Aegean Doc, and CPH:DOX and Diversity in Cannes. It won official selection at Athens Short Film, Cyprus Film Festival, Filfestival Kitzbuhel, and SHOTS. The film has won Best Social Responsible Film at New Media Filmfestival in LA and a pencil at D&AD 2017 and a Bronze Lion and two shortlists at Cannes Lions 2017. Some press: Guardian and Creativty

JOHNNY WALK STORYLINE
The film wing of Johnny Walker which we created, seat out to support artists and film makers around the world who, against odds lived the "Keep Walking" philosophy. In a continuation of Ode To Lesvos, VICE co-produced a film with artist Spencer Tunick in Colombia.
