My starting point of this project is to learn more about the relationship between people and objects, their purchase behavior, and secondhand consumption to figure out what can impact people’s perception of an item.
This project ended with a pop-up event designed to bring people together to have a casual conversation through objects exchanging. In this event, people were asked to give away and personified one of their unneeded items. In the returns, they will get an object and notes from other participants. This event provides people with an opportunity to meet with strangers and get to know each other in a fun way. Also, it can create a dialogue between people and items and change how they see an object and secondhand stuff, in order to promote a more sustainable value.
The inspiration for the visual language was from the tags that stick on the goods, and the plastic bag is my main icon for this event. The color palette is low brightness and highly saturated color. I want to create the vibe that it is old, used, but still energetic.
