826 National Annual Report

Drawing inspiration from the adage, “The pen is mightier than the sword”, this year’s Annual Report emphasizes the power of young, diverse writers. The voices shaped through 826 National’s programs are a symbolic “pen”, as these collective perspectives are crucial for the future of our country. This concept emphasizes the confidence young writers achieve when they’re encouraged to express their unique perspectives, the value these young voices bring to our communities, and how providing a platform for diverse voices leads to movements that are truly dynamic and impactful. The editorial feel of the piece comes to life through a unique set of molded polymer clay miniatures that represent how the 826 community is shaping the future of journalism. I was the design lead on this project and collaborated with the organization's Head of Communications and Copywriter. I created the layout, hand-drawn illustrations and clay miniatures, working with client-provided photography.
