‘Chronicles’ isn't your typical storybook.

Pushing the traditions of fashion photography that have long been defined by brand promotion and narrow eurocentric beauty standards, fashion stylist Jimi Urquiaga started the ‘Chronicles’ series. The first of three volumes to be annually released, ‘Chronicles’ tells the origin story of supreme, godly beings and the evolution of human life.

To convey the sense of mythical lore told within ’Chronicles,’ a traditional approach was taken with the book design. But instead of photography cutting up blocks of text, curated passages of the story were strategically placed along the related fashion photography. Gold detailing is used on the cover and to frame the cover photos to give the book a couture fashion feel.
