With the infamous clock under scaffolding for restoration, Big Ben’s popular chimes have also been under wraps. Taco Bell seized the opportunity to announce its arrival to Londoners by surprising them with the sound of their own: its signature bell recreated to sound like the Westminster chimes.
The stunt grabbed tons of attention and highlighted Taco Bell’s entry into London. The opening of the first restaurant days later was met with tremendous fanfare and eight hours of continuous lines of eager Londoners excited to give our bell a try.
