The ideation process for the Small Stone redesign started in the sketchbook, and the primary ask was quickly identified: create a pedal design that spoke to both the sound of the pedal itself, and the nature of it’s place in music history, all while being enticing enough for a musician to pick up off the shelf and buy. The primary focus of the design would be coloring and typography. Using custom lettering and vibrant color to allude to the sweeping, phaser sound inherent in the pedal, the ultimate design was one far removed from the original packaging.
