The goal: Help integrate a new agent into the Compass team and kickstart her business with a custom logo and refreshed visual identity. The process: Maya Hyman joined Compass Real Estate as a solo agent. Her brand vision revolved around promoting positive change in the lives of others, starting with finding them the right home. Through short questionnaires as well as in-person meetings I was able to gain insight into Maya’s aesthetics, personality, and client base, giving me a solid foundation on which to build her new visual identity. We played with the idea of what it means to BE home, and all the things you can BE once you’ve found your home — eventually landing on the the concept of a bee as a visual mark. The result: The final identity shows a contemporary, geometric approach to a bee icon that weaves in a letter M for Maya—a friendly choice of her first name rather than both initials.
