Is a campaign to encourage men to be more open about how they’re feeling, with most tending to be more closed off when it comes to saying how they really feel. An abundance of research backs up these claims with shocking results presenting 75% of suicides being men. Therefore, we believe more than ever our fellow man needs to speak up to help cope with social pressures of toxic masculinity. Asking the question is as easy as “I’m here for a beer if you need me” or “How’s your head?” Which in turn became the hashtag for the campaign. Playing on a tongue and cheek vibe allowed DDS and Brad, VP Welfare of Bournemouth University to help men feel more comfortable with the stigma surrounding this issue and thus ditching the old traditions of what it means to be a strong man in today’s world. DDS is excited to share ‘Here for a Beer’ brands identity and more importantly to help get the awareness out that discussing mental health is not a weakness but a strength.
