I met Pinto’s Sam Slover while working with Whole Foods on a digital platform for 365 in 2015. From the beginning, his product vision was clear: to make nutrition information accessible (and understandable!) to everyone. Pinto’s technology powered 365’s (and now WholeFoods.com’s) entire digital product catalogue. In 2017, I helped scope and design an app that makes their data capture process possible, intaking thousands of consumer packaged goods across dozens of Pinto’s grocery store partners. In 2018, Pinto was ready to offer the power of their platform to everyone. It was time to build an app.
