Spont is an iOS app that helps people do new group activities and meet new friends. If enough people swipe right on an activity Spont algorithm will come up with the most convenient time and place for the event (given the average group time preferences and location). If there is a match users have 24 hours to confirm and reserve their spot. As a part of the four-person team, I created all of the UX, UI and the visual design of the app. I used Sketch for design and creating a functional prototype and Zeplin for passing the design to the developer. In big metro areas like NYC, London, LA, Berlin, Seattle or San Francisco there is a huge influx of highly educated workforce. They mostly have a sedentary work style and lack support networks from places they grew up or studied. We chose to do a maximally low-barrier mechanism for people to meet new friends. All it takes is to swipe right and confirm the specific activity. We believe meeting people on a group activity removes awkwardness from finding new friends. We chose to focus on mobile because this is the primary digital environment for Millenials and gen-Zers. This way we can create the experience that is lighter and quicker. There still a lack of working apps in this space that are focused on the mobile. The app currently is beta testing in Seattle. See More in my images in my portfolio
