Loud music is one of the leading causes of hearing loss among young people. Since no one 'listens' to more music than Shazam, we had the app experience hearing loss on International Ear Care Day. By disguising an advertising banner to look like part of the app's actual interface screen, we made users believe the app was experiencing hearing loss. When the app was working on identifying a certain song, instead of the normal "Listening" message, users received the message: "Listening but hardly hearing".
