We’ve brought the data behind Brooklyn Roasting Company’s Ethiopian Yirgacheffe coffee onto a blockchain—giving you a taste of traceable, trackable coffee trade. By showing how blockchain can help farmers, roasters, and everyone in between bring you a fresher, fairer cup. There was no better place to showcase the coffee trade than the heart of Williamsburg, Brooklyn NY at the street fair Smorgasburg. We brought BRC to the masses and distributed fair trade coffee in custom tumblers that allowed users to track the beans that were used in their brew to the source farmer. This data along the way made it clear that with Blockchain you can be certain of the origins of your products. My role as Executive Producer on this project was to determine feasibility and scope, location scouting, manage fabrication of coffee container (2 levels), event management, web development and logistics.
