Pierre Thaim — Chef, Etc
Chef, Author, Restauranteur, Social Entrepreneur, Culinary Ambassador…Pierre Thiam is a man of many titles. I partnered with the Senegalese chef and his team to craft a master brand identity for his company, Pierre Thiam Group. The brand system required versatility to house his many endeavors of today and the future. Like his cooking, we aimed to strike a balance between elegant and human—something the simple wordmark achieves through its imperfectly considered letterforms. A color palette inspired by Senegalese textiles brings colorful vibrancy when needed. The project extended into the conception of a pop-up event for Pierre’s company Yolélé Foods and the small ancient grain fonio called the Tiny Grain Tiny Pop-up. A simplification and visual update to Pierre’s website accompanied the rebrand.
