The QQQ ETF is the most actively traded security on Wall Street. But it wasn't always that way.

Around 2008 no one knew the brand behind the ETF. So we created mailers, posters, and oddball contests to introduce fund managers to the promise of a brand called PowerShares with the tagline: Escape Average. It became goto for institutional traders, day traders and a lot of 401Ks.
