VMFA Japanese tattoo campaign

The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts was bringing a world-famous Japanese tattoo exhibit to the third-most tattooed city in America. My partner and I had to bridge the gap between the buttoned-down VMFA and the passionate tattoo community, and we did it by talking about what Japanese tattoos meant to the wearer. I created this campaign, wrote the headlines, and came up with the various executions. We won best integrated campaign at the 2016 Richmond Show and became the first campaign in the history of the Virginia PRSA to sweep their major awards.
