Magic typically creates packaging for the collectable card game that caters to the latest set release. Because of this they did not have a solution for packaging and retail display for consumer product that would exist outside the card game or set releases. After a comprehensive review of branded product and set releases from the last two decades the design team created a visual language that retained the magic essence and could comfortably sit next to card packaging and still look on brand. This visual language was then used to create a flexible asset toolkit which could be handed off to partners to create on brand packaging and retail trade dress for any number of products.
