Branding + Wine Labels for Tapps Owl Wines

During the end of the summer and early fall, I got the chance to brand a new winery in Washington (hello, DREAM!) called Tapps Owl Wines. Their branding was inspired by the time a Barred Owl was trapped in the barn on their land. His eye was swollen and crusted shut, so they caught him, wrapped him in a soft cloth and brought him to the animal clinic to heal his wounds. Finally, they set him free and he became the icon for their new business venture. The visual theme of their airbnb, tasting room, and products was to be a bohemian whimsy. Hence, a light, airy watercolor wash was used across their packaging to unify with the themes of their spaces, as well as contrast with the hard lines of their logo, and the gold, glowing eye of the owl.
