A People's Manifesto For Wildlife
A People's Manifesto for Wildlife is a not-for-profit environmentalist and conservationist manifesto, which sets out 200 forward-thinking proposals on how to tackle the climate and wildlife crises both in the UK and across the world. It is compiled by nature broadcaster and conservationist Chris Packham, with articles from experts, scientists, journalists and activists, including George Monbiot, Robert MacFarlane, Dominic Dyer, Amy-Jane Beer and Bella Lack.
I produced over fifty illustrations for the print copy of the manifesto, as well as providing art direction, layout design and proofreading for the full document. Our aim was to create a manifesto that, while rooted as strongly in scientific fact and objective research as possible, was not presented as a dense political document, but as an easy to read magazine which could be accessible to the general public.
The manifesto was produced and handed out for free at a 10,000 strong march on Downing Street in September 2018, whereupon it was delivered to the Environment Minister at the time. Various articles and illustrations were consequently reproduced and published in various journals and newspapers, including the Big Issue, Resurgence and Ecologist, Surrey Wildlife Trust, and the Guardian.
