While researching various markets, we stumbled upon a long lost cultural treasure known as Souk Ukadh - a place of gathering where Arabic poetry competitions were annually held. Competing tribes would resort to Classical Arabic to facilitate communication and togetherness. The Arab world's gradual loss of its language nowadays urged us to be socially responsible by reinvigorating the use of Arabic. Aware of how social media has become a major communication platform, unfortunately we discovered that Arabs incessantly interact with disregard of their mother-tongue.
Although ongoing efforts are tackling this issue at large, we opted for a subtle yet long-term effect by continuously exposing and engaging the public with the Arabic language. Consequently, our kiosk and its social media outlets are designed to subject the pubic to Arabic small-talk within heavy urban circulation thus, both physically or mentally interacting and projecting itself to its surroundings.
