Teens have a tendency to catch STDs and teachers have a hard time getting through with sex ed., while traditional campaigns have little to no lingering effect.
So along with a few games designers, we suggested the danish ministry of education to do a simple, yet fun, card game. The teens would have a laugh and enjoy having an easy class, while getting the message "Don't get icky STDs, wear a condom instead" hammered into their impressionable young minds.
The campaign was a huge success, despite being purely analogue and with a media budget $0. And afterwards you'd even see kids playing with STDs in their lunch hour.
I did concept work and illustration and design for the project – and filled my search history with really icky images, that still give me nightmares.
