Murals of Tibet

In 2010 under the graceful behest of Art Historian Thomas Laird, and the Dalai Llama Panogs Co-founder Gavin Farrell took a Gigapan Epic Pro capture system to Tibet. He spent several months traveling across the country through the ancient towns. The temples and their rooms were crumbling and falling down and his mission was to preserve and archive as many of the interior murals, in hyper resolution, as possible. Many of the building he photographed no longer exist so it cannot be overstated what this project meant in terms of he preservation of the Tibetan culture and it’s Heritage Murals of Tibet was released in 2018 by Taschen in two additions, one as a giant SUMO addition hand signed by his holiness the Dali Llama.
