Marcel Breuer’s Whitney Museum is antisocial in it’s ontology, and the LADG’s Armstrong Avenue house in Silverlake (Los Angeles) is derivative of it, making it a house, that is a model of a museum. The aim of this project is to create a sibling for the Armstrong Residence that gives it a diptych relationship. Extrapolating from this assumed pipeline of derivativeness, the created object is no more than an object on my desk, only leaving this context to be presented, where it is recontextualized as an object on a table, with drawings on the wall behind it. The triviality of the translation process extends to the use of specific media, such as photography, drawing, model making, and bit mapping, which gives each piece of respective representation it’s own agency behind how it represents the project.
