Twitter's Design and Research team approached me to animate "like" icon reactions for special occasions such as Halloween, Thanksgiving, Valentine's Day, etc. The aim was to bring a touch of joy to the user experience. This was Twitter's first time using these icons, which were tested first with a Halloween reaction. The Halloween reaction positive response led to the creation of more custom reactions for future holidays.
This was a great opportunity to collaborate with a group of talented designers and engineers, and implement an innovative approach to the way users interact with the application.
