"Kanye promised the world Yeezy Season—pop-up projections worldwide, the unveiling of a new colorway for his cult sneaker, a capsule collection with A.P.C. and, ya know, one truly dark, envelope-pushing, brilliant-ass album. And Mr. West delivered. Yet there were none of the typical record label promotional tools—no singles on the radio, no music videos. Nothing except these simple posters: the words PLEASE ADD GRAFFITTI on the top, Def Jam's logo on the bottom, and an image of what could be any blank CD with red tape. We took Kanye's invitation into our own hands and mailed a poster to five of our favorite artists: ESPO, Curtis Kulig, Wil Fry, Mister Cartoon, and James Franco (yes, that James Franco). Here's what they sent back."
