Visionaire 65 Free Deluxe Marc Jacobs

Visionaire 65 Free Deluxe is the luxury culmination of 36 contemporary art posters inside a Marc Jacobs “carry-on”. In its original inception, the posters were distributed to the public as a series of three sets in three cities. I worked closely with the accessories team at Marc Jacobs to design a custom travel bag using materials from that season’s collection. In order to create some interest while maintaining continuity in the Helvetica system carried from the standard editions, I introduced different sans such as Carvalho Bernau’s Jean-Luc and Or Type’s Separat to the leather travel tags, drawstring bag, and pouch containing travel stickers inspired by each site at which the sets were given away: Miami during Art Basel, Los Angeles during Oscars Week, and New York in various pop-up locations including Times Square, NADA, and the Frieze Art Fair. The aim was to create an elevated version of the standard editions that maintained an air of fun and accessibility in the spirit of “democratizing art”.
