The original Land Rover, the Defender, had come to the end of it's run.
An iconic vehicle that had become a part of so many people's lives, through adventure, expeditions and life-saving journeys by the Red Cross, the UN, Unicef, and hundreds of wildlife environmentalists. It wasn't just a symbol of capability, it was one of hope and humanity.
During that year, I had heard rumors that the end was near. And so when the brief landed on my desk, I felt emotional yet honored to pay tribute to this icon.
Upon pouring over hundreds of images, films and stories from drivers about their expeditions, discoveries and journeys the solution seemed to present itself. The Defender wouldn't be the iconic legend it was, without the drivers. Using their stories we sent-off this legendary vehicle via the biggest 'photo' album.
