Editorial Illustrations for The Creative Independent

The Creative Independent (published by Kickstarter) is an amazing online resource for artists. I was asked to illustrate their how-to guide for doing taxes as an independent contractor. The article is quite lengthy and full of a LOT of legal jargon, so I tried to keep the illustrations fun and somewhat abstract to provide a little ocular relief without steering totally off course from the written content. The individual illustrations fit together like a puzzle to complete the banner image, which is how you hope your taxes come together, right? After you compile your check-lists, paper piles, and arbitrary numbers, you have a nice n' neat tax return!
