Burger King - Whopper Detour

There are way more McDonald's restaurants in the U.S. than Burger King. So we thought: Let's turn their restaurants into BK's. Well, sort of; To promote the new Burger King app, we created the "Whopper Detour" - a burger special, that can only be unlocked from a McDonald's joint.  After the activation, The BK app jumped to #1 on the App Store, and was downloaded more than 1.5 Million times in the following weeks. The campaign was named amongst the "10 best ads of 2018" by Business Insider, "The 15 Best Marketing Stunts, Activations and Odd Creations of 2018" by Adweek, and "The 12 best Creative Ideas In 2018" by Forbes, and it was featured on Adweek, AdAge, CNN, Fast Company, Wired, and a lot more.
