Miami Design District - Wayfinding

With this project, I was tasked with coming up with solutions to an information problem pertaining to the public arts, restaurant, and retail space that is Miami’s Design District. I sought out DACRA as I admired what they had done with this space adjacent to where I went to high school. I went down for a preliminary meeting with a member of the accounts team at the agency I worked for. We explained what our company does, and after some conversation over espresso’s in one of the DD’s fine Cafés, the CFO Steve told us “No one ever finds their way up here, they just walk around the main central area and eat at Michaels Genuine”. From that sparked a whole conversation where another party member in the meeting claimed he had been to the DD countless times and never knew about a lot of the things Steve showed us on the casual tour. From this conversation, I created an entire pitch showing solutions from the latest technology in transparent OLED touchscreens to a wayfinding-app that could be scaled to work for the entire city of Miami.
