Google - A Very Long Journey

When he was just five years old, Saroo Brierley lost his family after accidentally falling asleep on a train headed for Calcutta. For months Saroo lived on the city streets until he was adopted by an Australian family who took him back to Tasmania and raised him as their own. More than 25 years later, Saroo discovered Google Earth and so began his long journey to reunite with his birth family.

With Saroo's story now adapted into the Oscar-nominated feature film Lion, we saw the opportunity to highlight the instrumental role Google played in his reunion, via our short film A Very Long Journey.
