Redesign Lunafest.org for better usability and scalability as organizational capabilities grow.
We leveraged our redesign of clifbar.com to better align the overall organizational awareness. Knowing that Lunafest plans on growing, we created a mobile-first site where people could learn what Lunafest is, how it’s connected to Clif bar, and how they can get involved.
Through the redesign, we noticed a lack of communication of what Lunafest is and the impact it can have on a female filmmaker's career. As a result, we wanted to leverage the filmmakers that have previously been involved and how Lunafest has specifically impacted their careers. Previously, the films were the hero, so we surfaced the female stories, which emphasized the project’s overall aim more strongly than the previous design, which is supporting female filmmakers.
Another issue was the lack of awareness of Lunafest’s live events. We wanted people to be able to search and participate in the festivals more. As a result, we streamlined the hosting process and information for planning events, and also surfaced more events. The events became much more scannable and searchable.
