Huawei P9 smartphone – 'Don't Just Snap' campaign

I worked with Doner London to deliver Huawei’s ‘Don’t Just Snap’ campaign to promote the P9 smartphone, in partnership with photography brand Leica. I wrote all the copy for what was a huge European UGC-based campaign – from the main strapline to the web copy to the social promo posts. This was a pretty rare level of ownership for a humble freelancer like myself to enjoy across such a far-reaching campaign. I defined and then refined the tone of voice. Then evolved the microsite for the four individual phases of the competition and made it simple enough to be translated into a dozen different languages. The result? Over 100,000 amateur photographers submitted their work. The campaign garnered lots of attention in the style press and across the industry. And I got to see my copy on billboards big and small across London. It was pretty sweet.
