The Monsoon Diaries

The Monsoon Diaries traverses across the world with adventurous young professionals on backpacking trips that connect them to each other, to themselves, and to the world. Calvin D. Sun, M.D. started The Monsoon Diaries eight years ago as a blog documenting his travels; he soon found himself in contact with people who wanted to travel with him, and then organizing trips for large groups — built on the philosophy that you don’t need to put your life on hold to travel the world. Calvin’s motivation to travel comes from a profound nostalgic longing for places he hasn’t been. Playing off of this idea of looking backwards while moving forward, an evocative, runic wordmark and custom typeface create a strong voice for the brand.
