Gallant Language Consulting
Gallant Language Consulting is a English/Spanish translation service. Anna (owner/founder), whose maiden name is Gallant, had a strong pull toward the word that also means brave, courageous, and bold.
Anna travels to remote locations to help build houses for Habitat for Humanity, provides translating services for medical documents at hospitals, walks you through government forms, and pretty much will do anything else to provide as much information and context to a group of folks who may struggle with fully understanding what exactly they are signing.
When we were discussing the potential name and mark we kept talking about how there’s a lot of repetition when learning a new language. We kept going back to this idea and decided that a parrot would be a great way to symbolize, not only repetition but also conversation. They are also quite beautiful and would bring a nice boldness to the visual language.
The logo was designed after Anna’s very unique handwriting. She has long swooping letters and usually takes much of the line for only a few words. I was always fascinated by her notes and thought it’d be a great way to incorporate her unique style into the branding.
She also really enjoys taking notes by hand so many of the people she works with will see a strong resemblance between her notes and the logo itself.
As for the swag, Gallant does not have an online presence and Anna wanted to have a number of things she could leave behind. We created business cards, postcards for artists and hospitals, water bottles for those Habitat for Humanity projects, and because she’s always on the go, a sturdy backpack and notebook.
Anna just completed her masters in French so we will be expanding some of these assets soon!
